A New Commander is announced

Semmel has served as Assistant Vice Commander and Operations Group Commander for the 174th Fighter Wing, as well as an operational test/evaluation pilot at Eglin Air Force Base, Florida and an instructor at the U.S. Air Force Fighter Weapons School at Nellis Air Force Base, Nevada. A New Commander on the Horizon
New York Air National Guard Col. Greg A. Semmel addresses Hancock Field members after being announced as the new 174th Fighter Wing Commander at Hancock Field in Syracuse, NY on February 4, 2012. Semmel is a command pilot with more than 4,000 flying hours, including over 125 combat missions in various operations to include Operation Desert Shield, Operation Desert Storm, Operation Southern Watch, Operation Iraqi Freedom, Operation Enduring Freedom, and Operation Noble Eagle. Local Community Organizations Provide Assistance to Struggling Unit Members and Their Families at Hancock Field ANGB
Hancock Field and 27th Brigade’s Family Programs offices on 7 December 2011, received 36 and 46 Christmas trees totaling 82 trees from the Trees for Troops program delivered by logistical partner Fed-Ex. The Trees for Troops program was developed to provide holiday spirit to military families experiencing the holiday season with a deployed service member. The Christmas trees provided to the Trees for Troops program are provided by various local and regional people and organizations that choose to support military families by their purchase and donations of Christmas trees.
