In June, Michael Pizzarri, age 16, a second-year participant in Hancock Field's Exploring Program and member of Scout Troop 220, performed his Eagle Service Project on Hancock Field by planting 230 shrubs around the Building 174 cooling pond.

The project aims to mitigate goose populating the pond, consequently reducing hazard to flight. As the shrubs fill-in the geese should avoid walking through them to get to the water. Mike's team consisted of over 17 scouts and 7 adults, who performed over 170 man-hours.

Mike is interested in attending the Air Force Academy.
