Members of the 152nd Air Operations Group (AOG) held an open house for alumni 9 August 2014 at Hancock Field Air National Guard Base.

This is the very first alumni open house that was held by the 152nd and is something that they plan on holding yearly.

"The commander wanted to reach out to as many alumni as possible to make sure we had a good outcome. We plan on building from the inaugural event and hopefully get more and more people to come out every single year," said 1Lt. Patrick McManus, acting Director of Staff for the 152nd AOG.

Alumni members were first given a briefing from Col. Michael V. Comella, Commander of the 152nd AOG, and Lt. Col. James Fox. They were then shown the different areas of the 152nd's facility. The briefing gave alumni an overview of the 152nd's current mission. This gave the alumni an idea of how much the mission has changed over the years.

"Some of these men and women have been removed from service for over 20 years. Some were here with we were still an Air Tactical Squadron, so it's pretty cool to be able to show them what we do here now that we are an Air Operations Group," said McManus.

"Having the alumni show up for this event was a great experience," said 2nd Lt. Brian Cooney, Intel Officer with the 152nd AOG.

"This is a great way to start an event that may go on to become something amazing," said McManus.

Once the alumni were finished with the briefings and touring the facility, they were treated to refreshments. While enjoying their refreshments, they also got a chance to sit with some of the current members of the 152nd AOG and talk about matters from the past and present.
