On March 6, Capt. Peter assumed command of the 174th Security Forces Squadron from Maj. Christopher at Hancock Field Air National Guard Base.

During the ceremony the officiating officer Col. John O'Connor, 174th Mission Support Group commander, discussed what this change meant for both Airmen.

"This change of command represents a perfect storm in which these two gentlemen's paths led them to these new positions," O' Connor said.

O'Connor went onto share the accomplishments of Christopher.

"Maj. Christopher is leaving the squadron better than he found it," O'Connor said.

O'Connor also highlighted Peter's path which led him to this new position as the Security Forces Commander.

"Everything Capt. Peter accomplished was through hard work and when called upon by the wing, he was ready," O'Connor said.

Before relinquishing command, Christopher thanked his squadron.

"It's about what the squadron does at the end of the day," Christopher said "It's been a great ride, but its time to move on."

After assuming command, Peter thanked his squadron.

"I wouldn't be here without all the support of the men and women in my squadron," Peter said.
