The normal tour season at Hancock Field Air National Guard Base runs every year from April through October during the year, normally during weekends when the unit is assembled. Tours on the base are used to bring awareness to the community by highlighting the different areas and functions of all the units located on the base.

A tour, which lasts approximately two hours, features a video, briefings and stops around the base to help the group understand what happens on a military installation. The tour starts with a video showing the history of the 174th Fighter Wing and a briefing on the wing's current mission. The next stop on the tour is the Field Training Detachment, which often houses the MQ-9 Reaper. The final stop on the tour takes you to a hangar where you are likely to see heritage aircraft in varying stages of restoration to be placed in an air park located on the base.

Tours are run by the 174th Public Affairs Office, and are given to many different groups ranging from Cub Scouts to civic, political and military leaders, as well as other groups within the community. Group size should be no less than 10 people and no more than 25. For groups with children under the age of 12, please contact us to discuss further.
